I'm Amy and I'm a married mom of three. I have two beautiful daughters, one fabulous adult daughter (Amber) who is married and lives nearby, and a sweet and sassy ten year old (Manon) who is in 5th grade. Then we have the "baby", ok he's not exactly a baby, but he is my baby. Ben is 7 and started first grade today. Full day school! Ahhhh! <br /> <br />Ben gets on the bus at 8:30 and he won't get home until 4:15. I'm sorry, but that seems like cruel and unusual punishment. How many times are they going to make him recite his ABC's! I know for a fact that he won't sit still for longer than 20 minutes at a time. I'm not sure how this whole full day school thing is going to work out for me. I miss my little man. All I wanted was a few minutes to take a shower put a load of clothes in the washer and make the beds. I don't need 7 hrs. and 45 mins. to do that! I like being with my kids and being a mommy. Ben has been my faithful sidekick for 7 years. He is a character with an old soul. We have always been attached at the hip. One day at lunch he told me that I was the "best cucumber maker in the whole wide word"- yes word. "That is the best compliment I have ever been given." I don't know how I will make it through the day without his advice and running commentary, but somehow I must persevere. I will survive hey, hey. <br /> <br />I will now start a new season of my life - an empty-nester during the day. Do I get a job? Take up golf? Volunteer more? Become a slob? Start exercising?
